The Tyre
Tracker reports the left rear inner tyre has no PSI. Hmm, not good, but we have had lower readings
for a few days now, just a little worrying.
But today, zero air is less than ideal - so we inflate it again and head off
to Loves Truck Stop, about 20 miles away, for repair. They find a fine tiny hole in the tyre and it
is duly repaired. Next we need diesel,
but not here at Loves, they are usually $0.20-30c a gallon dearer than
non-truck stops. ‘Gas Buddy’ finds us a
cheaper option just 12 miles away in the direction of travel so all good. Get it for $2.479/G and happy with that. By the way, it is till raining on and off so
we’re careful on the road, it has been dry for so long.
Gosh, where
did the day go, we should trundle on and find somewhere to park for the night,
being Monday should be OK. Pull up at
the Seaquest State Park Campground, nobody in the office, but there is a phone
so get through to the Washington State Park Reservations who advise nothing is available
for our size rig. Well, we go looking
anyway, as you do when you are a Kiwi and find quite a few sites with no
reservation signs and even some full hook-up sites with no reservations signs! We pick one we like and which has no paperwork
on the post and here we are staying for the night - put the cash in the
envelope supplied and I guess we are good for the night! I think we have been spoilt though,
Washington seems to be an expensive state to RV in, both for the cost of
accommodation and diesel etc. as well as the taxes.
The
drizzle/rain lets up and the sun shows its welcome face once again : ) The site one away from us has a tent on it
and the owners have just driven back, it looks like a solo Dad with two cute
little boys, maybe 5 and 7, stacking the fire wood they have bought. I guess we are having a camp fire tonight -
nice, it’s just far enough away we won’t smell like Indians all night but we
will be able to see the fire and hear the crackle : ) Bet they toast marshmallows – or even make
‘Smores!
Dash it all, it starts to rain before they get to the marshmallows : (
BTW we have
no WIFI here either, promise we will stay somewhere with comms next stop!
did you know the man who invented the hula hoop came from longview wa
