Elma to Poulsbo WA

White rabbits!! Had a nice quiet night, hardly any traffic noise and just a very distant train whistle.  A bit overcast this morning and only 15C, smacks of a mediocre summer at home really.

Said goodbye and thanks for having us to the Camp Manager and were given more home-made cookies for the road, such lovely people here, we would like to come back one day.  We watch in awe as a couple with a little girl maybe 8 years old, dismantle their tent and pack it and all their other camping paraphernalia and luggage onto a trike with many tiedowns to continue their trip, with three people up – really!  I was too embarrassed to get a photo but everyone was looking and wondering how it was all going to work.  Hope they travel safe!

However I did get a photo of the matching red rig, this is how some people do it.

Fancy matching rig!!

Walmart – we’re back!  Did you miss us?  We haven’t been near you for at least a week! Anyway we more than made up for our truancy today.  We are back in the land of sales tax, funny how you so quickly get used to not having to pay it.

It was only about 80 miles to Poulsbo where we booked into the Eagle Tree RV Park for the next three nights.  We got our first glimpse of the Puget Sound on the way.  No wind so very calm.  It’s hot and sunny again, got up to about 26C this afternoon.  We suss out the bus and ferry transport across to Seattle for tomorrow and tonight we take the shuttle along to the Clearwater Casino to get the lay of the land.  Lucked out again with the ‘two for one’ main course, or entrée as they call them here.  Had a bit of a flutter on the pokies, huge investment of $5!  Kim did well and cashed in his $18 winnings straight away so he wasn’t tempted any further : )

Back to the coach for an early night -  we’re just in time to catch the last half hour of The Good, The Bad and the Ugly!  Good cable TV here and good WIFI.  Anyway, we have a big day tomorrow so nighty night!
