Troutdale OR

Feels like I was awake all night, I might as well get up and do something useful.  At least there was nobody hogging Walmarts free WIFI this early, just me!   Go inside at opening time (9am) for the hairdresser but the lady is on her own and can’t take me until 11 am.  Give it away for now, there will most certainly be another Walmart up the road.

We need to find a Loves Truck Stop to get the wheel nuts retorqued today and the nearest site is a little more east than we first planned so we missed Vancouver and most of Portland.  Catch them next time!  But as soon as we crossed the Columbia River the sun came out, so it is true what they say about Washington being green and wet and Oregon sunny.

We first  hear, then see one the exhaust brackets has come loose so try to buy replacements at Loves, no go, but next door at TA they have them.

Less than a mile further we find the Sandy Riverfront RV Park which ticks most of the boxes, full hook up, laundry, WIFI and lotsa TV stations - and they can take us.  Not only that, we can have a river view site too.  Kim replaces the exhaust bracket but we need a couple more so we walk back through the lovely little town of Troutdale (lots of restaurants, bars and a couple of antique shops and decorated with lots of colourful hanging baskets of flowers) and on to the TA Truck Stop to purchase said items.

I only make it as far as the Columbia Gorge Outlet Mall but Kim didn’t bring his Visa so I have to give him mine so he can buy the clamps!  Just as well he drops it back to me on his way back to the coach, I have my eye on a pair of comfy Sketcher sandals which came home with me!

Lovely to have the sun again and it is forecast to get really hot for the weekend.
