Coburg, OR

Another warm, sunny day - liking it here in Oregon.  Bobbi & Tom offer to take us to the local produce stores - Thistledown Farm and Lone Pine Farms, which are great!  We saw onions the size of rock melons, yellow beetroot, lots of different squash, marionberries (a kind of smooth blackberry which was developed in Oregon) and loads of jams, jellies, sauces and even wine in one of the shops.  We have to get the Bodacious corn on the cob, which comes highly recommended.  The stone fruit looks fabulous and the peaches and cherries, we can already confirm are absolutely delicious!

We were planning on a quite night at home eating our fresh produce and leftovers but B&T invite us over for dinner at their place with their son Mike, wife Pam and two late-teen grandchildren, Amelia and Nick. We have a great night with a lovely, real American family.  The food was amazing, BBQ spare ribs, home made potato salad, bodacious sweet corn.... The Root Beer Spiders which followed were pretty darn good also!  Stuffed to a standstill!
